I got a text from Spareslot

Spareslot is an assistant for an organizer: someone you know who holds a court, a training session, a class spot or a tee time, and sometimes cannot use it. They added you so you could be asked first. Texts come from +1 775 521 6885 and always start with the organizer's name, as in "Spareslot for Maya:".

  • To stop, reply STOP. You will get no more texts from Spareslot from any organizer. To start again, reply START.
  • To get help, reply HELP.
  • You can answer an offer with YES or NO, or just say what you mean in your own words. If you say yes, Spareslot confirms it and tells everyone else the spot is taken.
  • Expect about 2 to 4 texts a month per organizer, only between 8am and 8pm in your time zone. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • You do not need an app, and Spareslot never charges you.
  • If you do not know the organizer or did not agree to get these texts, reply STOP and email us so we can look into it.

I want to be on an organizer's list

Ask the organizer for their join link. Opening it shows a button that starts a text to Spareslot with their code filled in. Send that text and you are on their list. If you opted out of Spareslot before, text START first.

  • How it works. You add the people you know one at a time and confirm that each one agreed to get texts. Spareslot sends each person one intro text with an easy way to stop. When you cannot use a spot, you tap "I'm out", approve the draft, and Spareslot asks your people in the order you chose. The first yes is confirmed, and everyone else who was asked hears it is taken. Nothing goes out until you approve it.
  • Adding contacts. Pick people one at a time from your phone or type them in. Spareslot stores only a name and a mobile number. Add only people who agreed. A person who replied STOP cannot be added again until they text START themselves.
  • Taking a spot back. Open the spot in the app and choose to take it back. Everyone who was asked is told politely.
  • Deleting your account. In the app, go to Settings and choose Delete account. Spareslot stops anything still being offered, sends the normal closing texts, and then removes your contacts, spots, offers and texts. Opt-out records stay so that people who said STOP are never texted again.
  • Signing in. Spareslot sends a code by text to your phone. If it does not arrive, wait a minute, then ask for a new one. Still stuck, email us.
